Psychological Assessment & Testing

Clarity Through
Comprehensive Assessment

Struggles with attention, learning, or emotional functioning are not always easy to explain. Whether these challenges show up in school, at work, or in everyday life, there is often an underlying reason that has not yet been clearly identified. Psychological testing provides a comprehensive, objective understanding of how someone thinks, learns, and processes information. The goal is not only to clarify diagnoses, but to provide meaningful, individualized recommendations that support real-world functioning.

We provide evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. Many individuals seek testing after noticing ongoing difficulties with focus, organization, academic or work performance, or emotional regulation. Others come after years of feeling that something has been “off,” without a clear explanation. Testing is often sought when difficulties have not resolved over time or when patterns of concern are not fully understood.

A Six-Area Comprehensive Evaluation

Every assessment covers the full picture. Each evaluation is led by Dr. Willoughby. This is what allows her to make accurate diagnoses and recommendations that are specific, usable, and grounded in data.

01

Clinical Interview

Dr. Willoughby meets with you to understand your child's background, history, developmental milestones, and concerns. This context shapes everything that follows.

02

ADHD and Executive Functioning

Includes continuous performance testing, executive functioning assessment, and rating forms completed by both the client and others, providing multi-source data for an accurate diagnosis.

03

Emotional and Behavioral

Personality measures and clinical rating forms identify conditions that may be impacting daily functioning, including anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder.

04

Cognitive Testing

Evaluates verbal and non-verbal abilities, short-term memory, and processing speed. Identifies both areas of difficulty and genuine strengths.

05

Academic Testing

Assesses reading, written language, and mathematics, essential for identifying learning disorders and supporting accommodation requests.

06

Feedback Session

Dr. Willoughby personally reviews every finding with you. She explains what each result means, walks through real-world examples of how it shows up day to day, and discusses specific next steps based on your child's profile. You leave with clear findings and next steps.

Please note: We do not offer autism spectrum disorder (ASD) testing.

Written to Be Used, Not Just Filed

Our reports are thorough, clearly written, and built to be used. Dr. Willoughby writes each one personally, with enough depth to be useful for schools or providers, and enough plain-language clarity that clients can actually read and understand them.

Results are not just listed. They are explained with examples of what each finding looks like in daily life, at home, in the classroom, or at work. Our reports are well-respected by schools across Maryland and beyond, and are often used to support treatment planning, therapy referrals, and accommodation requests.
