At Dr. Willoughby & Associates, we provide local, comprehensive psychological services facilitated by a skilled team of professionals. Our practice is also proud to have a team of 30 PSYPACT psychologists across the United States, providing essential services to US Military Veterans.

Crystal, PsyD

Supervising Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Crystal Willoughby is the owner of the practice, which has been in operation since 2016. She hires, trains, supervises, and oversees numerous psychologists, associates, and staff that are employed throughout the company. Dr. Willoughby earned her Doctor of Psychology degree specializing in Clinical and Family Psychology from Azusa Pacific University.

She has extensive experience with psychological testing and has been the primary evaluator for numerous private schools in the Baltimore area. In addition to psychological testing, Dr. Willoughby has worked doing therapy with individuals, couples, and families. Unfortunately, Dr. Willoughby is not currently taking any new therapy clients. In her free time, she enjoys walking her dog, reading, volunteering, and spending time with her family. You will often find her roaming the parking lot and talking to people who are obsessing over her dog Yeti.

Chelsea, PsyD

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Chelsea Howe is a clinical and forensic psychologist. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University of Maryland and has been working in the field of psychology for over 15 years. Dr. Howe specializes in psychological assessment with both children and adults, where she provides diagnostic clarification, psycho-educational assessments, and recommendations. In addition to completing psychological evaluations, she is currently a professor at Johns Hopkins University and has previously taught at Loyola University. Dr. Howe also supervises psych associates and completes independent medical evaluations for veterans across the country.

Dr. Howe is a die-hard Ravens fan–so Steelers fans, beware!

Carli, CRNP-PMH

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner- Psychiatric Mental Health

Carli Ruffner is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and medication management for individuals across the lifespan. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Pennsylvania State University, another in Nursing from the University of Maryland, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. Carli’s diverse professional background includes roles as a bedside nurse, a clinical instructor for undergraduate nursing students, and experience in school-based settings, as well as, both inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities.

Central to Carli’s approach is the belief in a collaborative treatment model that involves clients and their support networks. Her therapeutic approach emphasizes collaboration among herself, clients, and their support networks to tailor treatment plans to meet each individual’s unique needs.

In her free time, Carli enjoys staying active, whether indoors at the gym or outdoors, attending live music events, enjoying stand-up comedy, and cherishing moments with her husband, son, family, and friends.

Danielle, MS

Psych Associate

Danielle Fenwick is a Registered Psychology Associate, under the supervision of Dr. Crystal Willoughby and Dr. Chelsea Howe. She graduated from Loyola University with a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology. She has extensive training in psychological and educational testing with children, adolescents, and adults in both private practice and hospital settings. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family (including her dog) and friends, practicing yoga, exercising, and traveling. An avid baker, Danielle can whip up handcrafted baked goods, much to the delight of the office.

Kristen, M.S., LCPC

Doctor of Clinical Psychology Student

Kristen earned her B.S in Psychology from Wheeling Jesuit University in 2014 and her M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University of Maryland in 2016. She is now working towards her Doctor of Clinical Psychology and is expected to graduate in 2027.

Kristen has worked as a master’s level clinician and psychotherapist for the past five years in private practice. She is a board approved clinical supervisor for entry level therapists and is a clinical director at a private practice. She has also taught psychology courses at a community college after completing her Master’s degree. Kristen has worked with clients from 5 to 80 years old for a wide array of mental health conditions. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety-related disorders.

In her free time, Kristen enjoys reading, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her dog, Winnie. A fun fact about Kristen is that she read 70 books in 2022!

Katie

Business Manager

Katie Hamill is the Business Manager at Dr. Willoughby & Associates. She graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science in Law & American Civilization and earned her Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling – Marriage and Family from Liberty University. She oversees all business operations and strives to ensure that all aspects of the business run efficiently. In her free time, Katie enjoys hanging outside with her dog and cooking new recipes. As a loyal fan of The Bachelor franchise, you can usually find her crafting her bracket for the upcoming season.

Lily

Senior Administrative Assistant

Lily just graduated from Loyola University of Maryland with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. For most of her undergraduate career, she pursued a degree in Chemistry, before switching to Psychology. Lily has worked with kids for the past six years as both a gymnastics instructor and an art assistant. When she’s not at work, she enjoys thrifting, sewing and up-cycling clothes, going on runs, and trying out new coffee shops! A fun fact about Lily is that she did competitive gymnastics when she was younger, and then was an avid dancer throughout high school and college!

Yeti
YetiSenior Office Greeter
Yeti is our office greeter. You can find him standing at the front door, ready to welcome you to your appointment. Yeti is a show-winning Great Dane who recently became a Champion. He enjoys long walks, belly rubs, stealing his 8-year-old brother’s stuffed animals, and Shake Shack burgers. But watch out, he also enjoys stealing other people’s lunches. While he’s not very good at computers, he is great at supervising the office staff and making sure they give him treats.

If you are uncomfortable with dogs, please let us know in advance, and we will give him the day off from the office.
